My husband showed up to this store tonight all flustered and looking for a brand of dog food not carried here. Manager Alicia was extremely helpful and went out of her way to make sure he came home with what looks to be a higher quality substitute that was enjoyed by our picky dog. When he expressed being impressed by her above and beyond assistance, he said she replied with "That's just the culture of our store." Sounds like a place I want to support and have in the community.

I cannot recommend this location enough for any pet owner in the greater Oakland area. The staff is always welcoming and very helpful. The store has a great selection of toys, treats, food and a washing station (a quadruple threat!). This store makes getting things for my golden retriever very easy, and staff such as Davina & Max compel me to come back whenever I am in need of anything. 5/5 highly recommend

The staff at the Montclair Pet Food Express location was outstanding. We have a dog that barks a lot at other pets. We called in the morning ahead of time to get more information about the pet wash. The staff member said we could do the wash in a private pet wash station. We paid for the pet wash session ahead of time and received a token. The staff member proactively offered a waterproof collar. I went outside and put it on our dog. We entered the store with our dog and went straight to the wash station. The pet wash station was clean and well stocked with many towels and even dog treats. Even though we brought our own treats, our dog loved the doggie biscuits provided at the pet wash station. Once we started the wash, everything was smooth sailing. The water started off cool then became a comfortable lukewarm rinse. The air dryer also started off cool then changed to a nice warm air. At the end of the wash session, our dog was clean and dry. We were very happy with the whole experience. We will definitely return to Pet Food Express because of the great customer service and positive experience.

My doggy and I love this pet food express location. They have the friendliest and warmest staff (except for one guy there). But everyone else there makes up for it. I always feel very welcomed by MJ and Patrick, they provide the best customer service. MJ and Patrick always greet my dog & I upon entry and they take the time to ask about your pet and whether you need any help. MJ is my favorite staff member there, she is so sweet. Although they are not closer to me I choose to go to this because the customer service is outstanding. They treat you and your pet like family. I feel appreciated and welcomed when I shop there for my pet’s needs. Great selection of dog food and treats.

I feel lucky that this is my go to pet store. The folks here go out of their way to engage and be of service. It is like Old School Customer Service and this why I keep coming back. I love love LOVE going there and so does Oscar! :-). Thank you for being amazing!!

The people are so nice in here. Every time. The dog wash is fab. Easy walk in steps to the left. Good system but the dryer could be better but a atleast it’s not noisy

They're amazing every time. Patient, knowledgeable, kind. It was really helpful to a new dog parent. There's a 30 day return policy, keep your receipt. Make it work for you !! I Adopted a dog on Sunday from OAS, PFE was also doing one that day. Shout out to adopt not shop!! OAS gave me a 20% off coupon & a coupon to redeem a goodie bag. Drove there immediately. A staff member causally asked how I'm doing, I said overwhelmed with tears brimming. She took my stuff, put it down and walked me around the store. An angel. THE GOODIE BAG IS REAL YALL. I was expecting a small bag of samples and treats. (No hate, free is free and parenthood is expensivs) This was a full tote bag of full sized treats and food and samples and coupons.that's probably a shout out to all of PFE, make adopting more enticing! I went back yesterday and another truly lovely employee helped me. I've been there 4 times in 3 days.
